My Spring Break: No Wildness, No Cheeseburgers

Spring break '08 did not turn out quite as I had envisioned it. I didn't plan any kind of crazy debauchery. I did think that I would get some work done. It was all going to be so simple. I thought I would watch some movies, relax, and generally rally myself for the end of the semester.

Instead I have wasted time. I wasted some honestly... but the rest has been wasted either being sick or feeling sorry for myself for being sick. Weak! I am not ready to go back.

I have managed to entertain myself, but my attention span hasn't been the best. So between naps I have caught some TV. Top Chef is back and I am excited.

I finished watching season one of Supernatural and started season two. I have really liked it so far. The show delivers some scares and I kind of like the dynamic between the brothers. Throw in a badass 1967 Impala and some classic rock and I'm there. Oh, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan is always welcome on my TV screen. Hey, Spring Break...it is the time of year to be shallow.

I watched No Reservations by renting it on the Apple TV. I liked the movie, but won't be rushing out to buy it. I can see why those who were expecting a romantic comedy were unhappy. I think that the commercials for it did the movie a disservice. Marketing it as a drama (without highlighting the comic moments) would have been a better move.

The Apple TV movie rentals have worked out well so far. I love the instant gratification of searching through the movies then pointing and clicking what I want. The load time is negligible and the quality is good. The selection isn't Netflix deep, but more is added every week. I, for one, am happy so far. I suspect that I will be giving it quite the workout during the summer.

All of this TV watching has meant that I have been seeing a lot of commercials. And I must confess that it is the cheeseburger related commercials that have begun to get to me. Even the Dairy Queen burgers are looking good. I know that you don't give up something you won't miss for Lent, but this year going without meat has been hard. Easter cannot come soon enough for me. Seriously.

Thankfully there is a LOL cat for every occasion. This one expresses my mood perfectly.

I am resigned and willing to wait the week. However, if I don't get a cheeseburger soon I fear that my conversations with Adam will go much like this:

Just substitute "cheeseburgers" for "sausages." And no, that commercial never gets old for me. Genius.
